The story is quite short.
South Africa usually gets the last piece of the digital marketing news pie. Its not often that news is relevant to us as heads of digital, community managers, content creators, or digital designers.
We also cannot spend inordinate amounts of time online searching for the latest news. Thanks to Facebook groups and Twitter feeds we have created large communities who help us all not only stay in touch, but also up to date with the latest developments in the digital world. But, we often miss things, and get the news three or four days late. Every day is a chance to learn something new in digital. I think that is why most people who work in digital will understand that there is no such thing as a social media, or digital marketing expert – the digital landscape changes too much every single day to literally know everything, as it happens.
This is what inspired The Daily Digital.
The Daily Digital is a blog of mixed content, mostly curated from official press sites from the various social networks that are applicable to the South African user groups, and the marketers who service them and their clients.
Our goal is to offer you the latest news in one spot.
We want to take it one step further though, and offer sections where you can find the latest resources, tools, rules, guidelines and best practices for everyone who works in marketing. If you feel you have a lot to add, please visit our contributors section.
The blog is a work in progress, and if you spot anything out of place, please let us know. We’re a very tiny community managing this, and all advice, and offers to assists will be heard.
Here’s to growing digital, in South Africa.
PS, just in case you were wondering, here is a list of websites we pull content from. We do not own curated content, and credit the authors where possible. If you would like us to make any further changes to credit, please feel free to drop us a mail via our contact section.
